AGCO is the Ontario regulator responsible for licensing and overseeing the province’s online gaming market. It enforces the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming, which all operators serving Ontario players must follow. AGCO is the authority behind Ontario’s "AGCO-registered" operator list.
Also known as: Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
Ontario opened its regulated igaming market on April 4, 2022. Every operator in the market must hold an AGCO operating licence and a contract with iGaming Ontario (iGO, AGCO’s commercial conduit). Operators without both are operating illegally.
AGCO sets rules on advertising (no celebrity or athlete endorsements that appeal to minors), bonuses (clear T&Cs, no targeting self-excluded players), and player protection (mandatory deposit limits, session timers, easy access to self-exclusion).
AGCO is the authority for compliance complaints. Players who believe an operator violated the Registrar’s Standards can file directly with AGCO at agco.ca.
