A wagering requirement is the number of times a bonus (and sometimes the deposit) must be wagered before any winnings can be withdrawn. A 35x wagering requirement on a $100 bonus means you must place $3,500 in qualifying bets before cashing out bonus-derived winnings.
Also known as: playthrough, rollover
Wagering requirements are the single most important number on any casino bonus. A "100% match up to $500" offer is meaningless until you see the wagering multiplier and which games count.
Slots usually contribute 100% of each bet toward the requirement. Table games often contribute 10–20%, and live dealer games sometimes 0%. Read the bonus terms before playing — a 35x slots requirement becomes a 175x table-game requirement at 20% contribution.
AGCO rules in Ontario require operators to disclose wagering requirements clearly. Always look for the max-cashout cap too: many bonuses limit how much you can withdraw even after meeting the requirement.
